Kiyomizu Temple was added to the list of UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1994. It is one of the oldest temples in Kyoto and famous for the veranda built on the cliff.
Let me show you the cool architecture concept of the temple.
The structure are built entirely WITHOUT a single nail!
Yea, we need to pay to visit the temple.
Ema are votive plaques sold at the Shrine for people to write their wish on it then hang it on the ema stand, in hopes the shrine deity will grant their wish.
I don't understand why they put the white papers into the water. Maybe they are the bad fortune so they are left at the shrine.
Otowa Waterfall is the sacred water coming out from Otowa Mountain. It has three channels of water fall into a pond. Each stream's water is said to have a different benefit - to cause longevity, academic success, and a fortune in love life. However, drinking all three streams is considered greedy so we can only choose one to drink! I'll choose academic success. lol
And the queue is super long! Japanese really queue for hours to taste one drop of water.
Faith and belief, ahhh.
We met real geisha!
Fyi, Geisha is not prostitute, the word geisha means artist. they are traditional, female Japanese entertainer who perform classical music, arts, dance etc etc.
Geisha begin their study of music and dance when they were very young and continue it throughout their lives. Even the geisha is 80s or 90s years old, she is still expected to train everyday although she has more than 70 years of experience.
They do not engage in paid sex with clients.
A Japanese Buddhist monk was begging at the temple.
*stylish, looks like some kind of assassin*
Not forgetting to taste the famous greentea ice creeam :D
See the long queue.
Everywhere is packed with Japanese, even the toilet. Why?!?!
The expensive ice cream, must take photos before eating it :'(
If I'm not mistaken, it cost us 300 yen = RM12 D:
